Blue Fluted Plain Large Breakfast Cup & Saucer Number 75.
This is the rare, jumbo size tea cup that is no longer produced. The 75 cups and saucers are highly sought after and very difficult to find. It is a beautiful piece and a very desirable size, perfect for delicious homemade lattes and black breakfast teas with milk.
This is an old set, from
1938-39
that is in excellent used condition. There are some minor signs of use on the rim of the cup and on the saucer. It is clear that its owners took great care of it over many years. There are
no cracks, chips, scratches or other apparent damages
.
The cup is marked a factory second and the saucer is marked a factory first. Both are very beautifully painted by the same artist painter just one year apart -- they fit very well together! The cup has a faint spot of cobalt paint on its inside and I believe this is why it is marked a factory second. I have highlighted this spot in the photos. Otherwise the cup appears flawless to me.
The cup measures 2 5/16 inches high and
4 3/8
inches in rim diameter. The cup holds 10 fl oz (when filled to brim).
The saucer is 6 7/16 inches in diameter.
