An estate found, signed Royal Copenhagen glazed porcelain figurine #4431 the “Little Mermaid” designed by Edvard Erikson. Offered with no reserve and a low opening bid! It measures 8.5” high x 6/5” wide x 4.5” deep across the base and weighs a substantial 1.8lbs. The base is fully marked with the Royal Copenhagen backstamp in green and cobalt blue under glaze, see close-up.
Excellent Condition:
no nicks, chips, cracks, touch-ups or repairs and no wear to the shiny glaze. Good modeling and paint details, the hair is well delineated beneath the shiny glaze and the mermaid’s skin tone is a pleasing neutral tan – more natural than white.
