THE HISTORY OF THIS HOARD:
We just purchased this awesome hoard from a good family friend that owns a land development company that purchased the decrepit 100+ acre property, buildings and all contents lock stock and barrel.
Location of the property was in Southwestern Georgia a vibrant farm or cotton plantation at one time perhaps many, many years ago?
In one of the outbuildings (see picture below), over a dozen old whisky barrels were discovered. More than half of the barrels were extremely heavy!
He first thought the barrels may have contained prohibition whisky? Wow was he wrong!
After he chopped through the top of one of the barrels, he discovered the heavier ones contained all
OLD
USA MINTED
SILVER COINS!!!
He was in shock and a few days later gave me a call to help him assess what he found.
On To My Deal:
With the help of a forklift and a good industrial scale, we were able to assess the value in silver just from the barrel he opened (see pictures). So, I bought that one (for now).
He, (my friend the land developer) agreed to sell me the remaining heavy barrels that we would both bust open as fast as I can sell the coins.
No telling what is in the others yet but many are equally as heavy so you may want to keep checking back for new listings!
