About the feature stamp, itself
: this attractive, lilac-colored stamp zeroes in on an ox-steered Conestoga wagon. Interesting, if you look closely, three people can be seen on this stamp :

inside the wagon, an outline of a Mormon woman, in a sitting posture

and to the far left, it's Brigham Young, himself, his had stretched over their new kingdom, as  he blesses his new land, while the text above him reads, "

About this hand drawn, hand painted cover
: well, one look at this cachet should illustrate why I used the adjectives

bold

daring
"
in my opening sentence to describe Mr. Follows' work. On this one, he introduces us to a Native American who lived in Utah at about the time Brigham Young's wagons entered the previously unsettled area. Here, we see an 1847 Indian woman all deked out in her Native American attire

About this cover's overall condition
: since this cover was designed on a 76 year old envelope, let me comment on its overall condition. And without no hesitation at all, I am rating this cover an rock-solid

, on a scale of 1 to 10.
First off
, as far as 74 year old envelopes go, this cover's 4 corner are in decent condition.
Second
, with the exception on the letters TE penciled in on the cover's flip-side, this cover is virtually clean.
Third
, let me point out that the dings you see on the flip side are not really imperfections, but rather simply impressions of the 74 year old typewritten address

and that the 5 small dashes you see at the top are simply impressions made by the front side bar-cancel.
Fourth
, and most impressive of all, there are no glaring flap marks to be concerned about on this 74 year old envelope.

, the cover's actual flap is tucked inside the envelope,

sealed, and with its original shiny glue 95% intact.

INTERESTING TIDBIT
: when Brigham Young's expedition settled in Utah in 1847, the area was, at that time, controlled by Mexico, but that all changed in 1850 when the war with Mexico was completely over, at which time,
the Utah Territory
was born. It consisted of what today are the states of Utah and Nevada, and parts of the present-day states of Wyoming and Colorado. And finally, 46 years later, on January 4, 1896, Utah was officially declared our nation's 45th  state.
