Functionality
This item is in all natural condition and has not been replated and there was no need for repairs. It is clean, fully functional, and ready to shave. There are no bends in the head. The opening mechanism is fully functional and the head opens and closes as it should. The blade pins (that hold the blade) are intact and working properly. The blade sits flush and evenly in the blade tray. The rear tab and guard bar are straight. The razor has been blade tested. The threading on the handle and head are in great condition and the head sits firmly on the handle.
Appearance
This item has been polished, cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner, and sanitized. I spend a lot of time prepping my razors to bring you the best representation of vintage pieces I can. Some light flea biting on the door.
Details and Specs
I believe the Shovelhead began production in 1924. The hinges for the door on the guard bar instead of the back of the razor. This is a more mild shaver IMO in regards to single edge razors.
