    The
    Brown Palace Hotel
    , now
The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection
, is a historic hotel in
    Denver, Colorado
    ,
    United States
. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the second-longest operating hotel in Denver. It is one of the first
    atrium
-style hotels ever built.  It is located at 321 17th Street between 17th Street, Broadway and Tremont Place.
The Savoy Hotel was one of two hotels, (The Shirley and the Savoy) that stood side by side on 17th Street.  In 1921, they merged and were known as the Shirley-Savoy Hotel.  The Shirley side was razed in early 1960 and the Savoy was razed ten years later. The Wells Fargo Center is now on the site of these two hotels.
The Hotel Metropole and Broadway Theatre were constructed in 1891.    It was located at 1756 Broadway and was demolished in 1984.
The Hotel Metropole has had a number of distinguished guests, including President Benjamin Harrison. The theatre has also had quite a history of noted performers, including Sarah Bernhardt, Edwin Booth, George M. Cohen, and John Phillip Sousa. In 1955, the theatre was demolished to facilitate construction of the Cosmopolitan Hotel parking facility. Much of the buildings historical significance is derived from its association with its builder, Wm. H. Bush.
