I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection.THIS IS MY LAST ONE!
It seems like Star Trek has been around forever. I was just a kid when it (now called The Original Series) was on and I remember I wasn’t allowed to stay up to watch it. I only got to see it in syndication in the early 70’s when it was on between school and dinner. The whole family watched, except for dad, who was working (like a chump!). Now there have been quite a few spin-offs, extensions and reboots which just confirm that the premise is timeless and compelling. The Original Series used actual models for all of their craft, as opposed to the digital models used later. Now you can have one of your own, in case you want to create a Star Trek series of your own. Here is what I have found about this entertaining kit:
Round 2 is known for re-issuing popular kits from other lines, like AMT, but this is a brand new tool, so it is their own creation. In this release, they have already painted it for you and put on the decals. The round2corp.com
site shows the cover art and provides the following brief blurb:
When asked, most non-modelers say the need for messy glue and paint is the reason they don’t attempt to build a kit. This hurdle has been overcome with this snap-together kit of the Klingon Battle Cruiser from Polar Lights. This version of the ship comes from STAR TREK®: The Original Series and includes all colors and insignias pre-decorated on the parts. The kit assembles easily and is the perfect size for any bookshelf. An easy-to-follow pictorial instruction sheet is included along with a dome stand that features a support wire that allows the model to be displayed at different angles.

The most iconic STAR TREK® enemy ship
Star Trek ships are as popular or mysterious as the infamous Romulan Bird-of-Prey. The villainous ship played a key roll in the STAR TREK: The Original Series episode “Balance of Terror.” The ship’s iconic design and blazing bird graphic have been painstakingly researched to deliver the utmost in authenticity in this snap-together model kit. The kit features all decals needed to decorate the ship accurately. It also includes a dome display base and pictorial assembly instructions.
Scalemates.com shows this is a 201x (box says 2015) release of the new Polar Lights tool from 2004. Sadly, there is no really useful information about the kit.
There is a very long (>30 minutes) Unboxing and Build YouTube video from Starchwreck
Props & Models which starts by pulling out the parts. He builds it pretty much in real time, so you get an idea of how quickly this can go together.
Michael Benolkin did a quick Build Review
on the cybermodeler.com site of the original Polar Lights #4202 kit from 2004. Since this is an unpainted version of this kit, some of his review does not apply, but he was very happy with the quality of the kit, saying: “
The final result is a nice-looking Klingon Battle Cruiser that looks great on the shelf with my Polar Lights Enterprise NCC-1701
”.
This modern kit is in an elaborately decorated hanging box about 11” x 6.25” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in perfect condition and is still sealed with a few tiny tape disks, so it is
factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready.
This item contains one complete model kit with 40 silver, light green and pre-painted plastic parts along with a wire frame stand and a black plastic base. It requires no paint or glue (snap together assembly!) to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner only pays the winning bid because, for a limited time, I am offering this nostalgic kit with
Free First Class Shipping in the US!
No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck!
Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder).
As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
